Winthrop Graduates

Winthrop University was founded in 1886 as the Winthrop Training School and the first graduating class received their degrees in 1887. The Louise Pettus Archives & Special Collections has several historical collections that researchers can access to find information regarding Winthrop students and alumni from 1886 up to the present. Archival records are historical in nature and therefore there is more information regarding older alumni while more recent student records are maintained by the Admissions Office. W407-006 - Office of the Registrar: Enrollment Registers
This series consists of the official enrollment registers that recorded every student who attended classes at Winthrop. The registers have entries based on the academic year and included name of student, address of student, name and address of student parent or guardian, occupation of guardian, age of student, date of admittance, date of departure, class entered, course taken, church affiliation, and a remarks section.
W407-007 - Office of the Registrar: Grade Books
This series consists of the official grade books that recorded grades earned by each student from classes taken while at Winthrop. The grade books have entries based on the academic year and include the name of student and grade she received for each course the student took.
