Brief guide to basic library services

Dacus Library welcomes community users to the library between the hours of 8:30 AM and 5:00 PM Monday--Friday. Please call the Services Department at 803-323-4501 if you have additional questions.

First time users should review the library's User Access Policy, the Dacus Library User Code of Conduct, and the Winthrop University Appropriate Use of Information Technology.

 

Community Users

Community Library Users Building Access Information:

 o Building access is available only during posted community hours. During exam periods, community user access may be suspended. 

 o All guest users must present an ID and sign in at the Information Commons or User Services Desk.

o Library users must be age 16 or older (with photo ID) 

o Library users under age 16 must remain in the company of a parent or guardian.

o Guests must be age 18 or older to access library computers

o Access to all open study areas. Group and individual study rooms are reserved for Winthrop students.

Resources:

o Internet access with guest log-in (access on library equipment may be subject to specified computers and time restrictions; library equipment use priority is given to Winthrop Students, faculty, and staff).

  • Guests must be 18 years of age to access library computers. All guests may use their personal devices to access the Winthrop guest network.

o On-site use of library materials; borrowing is available through the user's local public library interlibrary loan service.
