Brief guide to basic library services

Winthrop University students, faculty and staff can request books can use OneSearch to locate and request books from other South Carolina colleges and universities through the PASCAL Delivers service. To locate titles available through PASCAL:

Log in to your OneSearch account:

  •  Your credentials will be your WU e-mail and password (for both active employees and retirees)
  • You can scope your search to PASCAL Libraries by using the arrow on the right side of the search box:
  • Enter your search criteria, and select a title. If a book may be available from a PASCAL lender, the PASCAL Delvers button will appear in the "Get It" section of the record.

 

  • Click on the request button
  • The request form will already be populated with the book's information.
  • If you would like the item to be sent to your home address, please enter the information in the "Comment" section 

Click "Send Request."

  • Most requests are available in 5-7 days.
  • You will receive a pick-up notice at your registered e-mail address when your book is available; requested items remain on the hold shelf for 7 days. 
  • If you have questions or concerns about your request, please contact the User Services Department.

Students, faculty and staff may use Interlibrary Loan to request materials not available from either Dacus Library or PASCAL institutions.  For full information and instructions, visit the Interlibrary Loan Page.

Winthrop Faculty, staff and students may request partial digitization of materials from other PASCAL institutions or from Dacus Library via OneSearch.  Requests should not exceed 1 chapter or 50 pages (10% or less) from a physical book book and/or a single article from a physical journal issue. All PASCAL institutions reserve the right to refuse a request at any time.

To request a digitized excerpt from Dacus' collection or a PASCAL school,  click the applicable "Request" button within the record and enter the volume, chapter, page numbers and article title:

 

Accept the copyright declaration and click "Send."

Digitized readings are delivered to the e-mail address on file, usually within 3 business days!
