For physical book loans, you will receive an email when the book is ready for pick-up at Dacus Library. Come to the library lobby through the first set of glass entrance doors and look for the bag with your name on it. It is checked out to you and ready to go. We will send back any book not picked up by its due date.
COVID-19 AND ITS IMPACT ON INTERLIBRARY LOAN
* Please read before requesting materials *
CURRENT TURNAROUND TIME:
Physical Items: 10-14 business days (sometimes longer)
Journal Articles: 3-5 business days (sometimes sooner)
The COVID virus has made it more challenging for the ILL Department to fill many requests for physical items. Currently, only 30% of Interlibrary Loan suppliers have resumed lending physical materials (e.g., books, DVDs, etc.). This drastically reduces our options when seeking out loans. Please be aware that we will do our best to fill all requests; but also be aware that not all requests are possible to fill.
The COVID virus has also increased the amount of time it takes for borrowed physical materials to reach us. Many libraries are operating at 50% capacity, and it could take several days before they are able to process and ship items. Please allow us the standard 10 to 14 business days for book/loan requests, but please understand that it could take longer.
Articles are still relatively easy to obtain as most libraries have access to and can "lend" from their electronic journals. Please allow us the standard 3 to 5 business days for article/copy requests.
Thank you for your patience and understanding during these challenging times. Please feel free to email us if you have any questions or concerns.
