Finding resources in OneSearch

OneSearch is a great place to begin your research because it enables you to search for almost all Dacus Library resources in one platform. A search in OneSearch will bring results in a variety of formats from different providers, including articles from our subscription databases, books and ebooks, streaming audio and video, scores, and more.

Interlibrary Loan

If you need a book or article that isn't available in Dacus Library or through PASCAL Delivers, you may be able to borrow it from another library. Request the item through Interlibrary Loan. The item, if available, will be mailed to Dacus and you will be notified when it is ready to be picked up.

Finding resources in OneSearch

Library resources can be found in OneSearch in a number of different ways. Check out the Introduction tab for tips & tricks for searching, including the difference between a keyword and subject search, and using operators to improve results.

Author/Creator - Find works by or about a specific person with a phrase search. For example, "aaron copland" or "mozart, wolfgang amadeus"

Title - Searching with a title phrase will find a specific work or works. For example, "the nutcracker suite" or "four seasons" vivaldi. 

Subject - There are numerous subject headings for music history topics, including:

Choral singing--Instruction and study Singing--Interpretation (Phrasing, dynamics, etc.)
Music--Acoustics and physics Singing--Physiological aspects
Music teachers, Training of Voice--Care and hygiene
Performance practice (Music) Voice culture
Singing--Instruction and study Voice--Physiological aspects

 

To find books in other South Carolina college and university libraries:
