Searching the catalog

Library resources can be found in OneSearch in a number of different ways. Check out the Introduction tab for tips & tricks for searching, including the difference between a keyword and subject search, and using operators to improve results.

Author/Creator - Find works by or about a specific person with a phrase search. For example, "aaron copland" or "mozart, wolfgang amadeus"

Title - Searching with a title phrase will find a specific work or works. For example, "the nutcracker suite" or "four seasons" vivaldi. 

Subject - There are numerous subject headings for music history topics, including:

Chamber music Program music
Church music    Absolute music
Classicism in music Hayden, Joseph, 1732-1809
Music--18th century--History and criticism Musical analysis
Music theory--History Romanticism in music
