New Students Library Orientation: Library Services

Computer Lab

The library has PC computers, a separate Mac lab, black/white printers, a color printer, and scanners. You'll also find tables, couches, and comfortable chairs for studying.

Laptops

Laptops are available to check out for the whole semester by emailing your request to IT (servicedesk@winthrop.edu). After placing your request, you will receive an email when your laptop is ready. You'll pick up your laptop at Dacus Library.

Personal Delivery

We offer home delivery of library items for Winthrop students, staff, and faculty who live outside the immediate Rock Hill area. These instructions will provide more information.

Study Rooms

On the main floor of the library, we have seven group study rooms equipped with white boards, a projector, and digital screens. On the library's second floor, you'll find individual study rooms, some equipped with computers.

Winthrop University students may reserve study rooms for group or individual study. There are two ways to reserve a group study room in the library:

1. Go to the library’s homepage and click the “Reserve a Space” icon, which takes you to a page where you can check out one of the 7 group study rooms. (https://libcal.winthrop.edu/reserve/GroupStudy)

2. You can also simply scan the QR code located on the door of each room and that will also take you to the booking site.
